Masterful adaptation capturing 1979 Alien tension. Incredible faithfulness to film aesthetic and sound.
Our analysis
The first Alien game in years worthy of a purchase, built around stealth, puzzles, and terror rather than guns. Phenomenal ambient sound and a dynamic, movie-sourced score create relentless dread, the bipedal alien's animation and AI are top-notch, and Survival mode is pure adrenaline. Weaknesses include terrible voice acting, weak-sounding weapons, a punishing save system, and heavy-handed fetch-quest backtracking that stretches the game out.
Our analysis
Feral's Switch port of the survival horror masterpiece adds motion aiming, HD Rumble and all DLC. The dynamic xenomorph AI and Sevastopol station shine, though the fetch-and-repair story and a drawn-out ending are weak points.
Our analysis
Alien: Isolation delivers intense survival horror on Switch, with crisp visuals, excellent audio and useful motion controls. Handheld play is delightful, though the late-game alien encounters can frustrate and the price is much higher than on other platforms.
Our analysis
ZP: surprisingly solid; excellent tension; weak android encounters.
Our analysis
Exceptional survival horror with perfect atmosphere and unpredictable alien AI; backtracking and filler sections detract.

Our analysis
Despite pacing issues and a weak narrative, Alien: Isolation remains the scariest horror game ever made. Its exceptional AI design, sound design, and atmosphere create an unmatched adrenaline rush and deliver the pure terror that horror games should achieve.
