Fun zombie action game that rewards investment with solid entertainment. Worth buying.
Our analysis
A surprisingly fun co-op zombie-slaying game that doesn't take itself seriously. While narratively thin and mechanically simple, the chaotic multiplayer action and colorful presentation make for an entertaining experience.
Our analysis
Zombie slaughter game with brilliant melee combat but poor game structure. Lazy design with respawning enemies, bad quests, and unfunny characters detract from good combat mechanics.
Our analysis
Surprisingly good co-op zombie slayer with painstaking gore detail and satisfying combat. Respects player time with tight 15-hour campaign.
Our analysis
A polished zombie slasher with excellent weapon variety, deep modification systems, and satisfying impact-driven combat. Co-op progression is well-implemented, and varied enemy types keep gameplay fresh. Minor visual downsides (awful mirrors) don't diminish the fun.
Our analysis
Dead Island 2 has one of the best gore systems in a zombie game and solid bones to build on. Repetitive kill-everything mission design, laughably bad boss battles and unforgivable co-op problems drag it down to a slightly above-average zombie game.
Our analysis
Entertaining zombie-smashing fun with satisfying gore system and good combat variety.
Our analysis
An enjoyable undead RPG with excellent melee combat and detailed damage model; poor gunplay and forgettable story offset by solid core gameplay.

Dead Island 2 is a fun if unremarkable zombie-basher worth the long wait for fans of the original, delivering the same vibe with modern visuals. Its gory, satisfying combat and experimentation with elemental weapons and curveballs are the real draw, backed by impressively detailed, lived-in LA environments and surprisingly enjoyable side quests. The story is forgettable and zombies become damage-sponge tedious over time, but the game is stable and well-polished.

Our analysis
A mindless but technically impressive zombie-slaying game with phenomenal gore and graphics that ultimately feels dated and soulless compared to contemporaries like Dying Light. While fun in short bursts, the simplistic gameplay, poor story, and lack of progression make it difficult to justify the full price tag.
