A standout, polished entry that overhauls the LEGO formula with semi-open hub worlds, overhauled combat, and gorgeous, charming animation packed with fan service across all nine films. Weaknesses include a disjointed mission structure with frequent load screens, an overcrowded HUD, voice-acting choices that make the abridged story feel rushed, and combat that is rarely challenging. Overall a buy, especially for Star Wars fans.

An absolute triumph and the best LEGO game to date, retelling all nine films with overhauled combo combat, fling-able lightsabers, over-the-shoulder shooting with a cover system, and fluid space dogfights. A huge, secret-stuffed open world spanning every major location offers dozens of hours of exploration. A handful of clunky boss transitions, tedious prequel filler, and the odd frame-rate stutter aside, it performs and looks impressively well on Switch.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is much more playable on Switch after the patch, with smoother frame pacing and improved split-screen performance. Dynamic resolution and increased pop-in trade visual quality for that improvement.
