Our analysis

Essentially a single prologue mission sold at a full forty-dollar price, which is the core grievance: it is far too short, with an end-credits sequence eating a large chunk of the runtime and the remaining content just bonus objectives on the same map. The little gameplay there is controls well and shows real improvement for the series. But charging demo-length content as a full release is indefensible.

Our analysis

Angry Joe finds Ground Zeroes a damn fine experience and a natural evolution of the series, but says this short prologue to The Phantom Pain is an extremely poor value at $40 at launch. He advises waiting for a bundled edition or renting it.

I would only recommend ground zeros if you can get it on sale or if you plan on buying the definitive experience which comes with both ground zeros and the phantom pain I find it hard to recommend on its own
