Our analysis

A refined, deeply rewarding evolution of Monster Hunter 3 with a huge roster of 75 large monsters, 14 distinct weapons, new verticality and mounting mechanics, and customizable Palico companions. Online multiplayer works beautifully on the 3DS, though it is hampered by the absence of voice chat, and the series remains hard to get into for newcomers. One of the deepest experiences on the system.
