A niche but enjoyable RPG sequel with an intriguing Matrix-inspired virtual-world story, likable characters and an engaging blend of turn-based and real-time combat highlighted by the imaginary chain and overdose mechanics. The visuals are its biggest weakness, looking a generation behind with rigid animations and rough character models, and the high asking price is hard to justify. Strong audio and battle systems make it a recommendation on sale, especially for Persona fans.
