A welcome remaster of the iconic original PS1 trilogy and a strong effort from Aspire, with significantly improved visuals, a 60fps boost, optional modern controls, and included expansions offering plenty of value. The first two games hold up especially well, while the third can feel frustrating to navigate. Drawbacks include inconsistent lighting that makes some areas too dark and the dated, mandatory manual saving with no autosave, but it is the best way to experience where Lara Croft began.
Our analysis
Aspyr's remaster of the first three Tomb Raider games impresses, with reworked visuals, real-time shadows, a steady 60fps, instant loading and a toggle back to the original look. The level design and secrets still hold up, though the controls stay clunky and docked play is too dark.
Our analysis
Tomb Raider I•II•III Remastered is a worthwhile nostalgic collection with improved visuals and the original expansions. Fiddly controls, an awkward camera and aging puzzle design demand patience, especially from newcomers.
Our analysis
Aspyr's Tomb Raider I-III Remastered adds updated graphics that stay faithful to the PS1 originals and a modern control option whose camera struggles in tight spaces. It is a fairly priced, accurate-to-a-fault collection recommended for fans of the originals.
