Our analysis
A triumphant Switch debut and the best entry in the series to date, daringly making the colorful cast fully playable for the first time and weaving co-op into the very fabric of its micro-games. The variety of character moves and stages that cleverly adapt on the fly add real depth, while ultra-simple controls keep the madcap mayhem accessible for solo and multiplayer alike. Only a thin online offering and the lack of voice acting for Wario hold it back.
Our analysis
Charming party game with addictive high-score gameplay and unique character mechanics, perfect for fans of the series.

The reviewer praises the creative and original micro-games but finds the experience ultimately shallow and brief, with the unified character-based design dampening the series' trademark off-the-wall variety. The short single-player campaign and short-lived joy make it a fun but forgettable treat.
