ZP: idiosyncratic Yakuza-brand fun but feels lesser than predecessors.

Our analysis

Strong entry with great combat, character focus, and engaging story. Recommended for JRPG fans and newcomers, though it is the end of the saga.

Outstanding character storytelling with 50+ memorable side quests; combat routine but Kazuma's journey satisfies.

    Our analysis

A weirdly weak entry that struggles because it wants to be both a new beginning and an ending, losing the warmth and balance of the series in the process. While it has good ideas and Kiryu is wonderfully written, the reviewer ultimately feels the game doesn't work for them as Kiryu's intended finale.
