Definitely a buy: a great-looking prehistoric world where exploring on foot or atop tamed beasts is a rare joy, and it proves far more than a copy-paste Far Cry. Melee combat lacks impact, but spears, bows, and the creature-taming loop are a blast.

Mack likes Far Cry Primal and thumbs it up: beast mastery and bow-and-arrow combat make it fun enough that he keeps wanting to go back in, despite flaws like the copy-pasted outposts. Not game of the year, and better value on sale than at full price.
