Kirby's move to 3D pairs an exciting post-apocalyptic setting with condensed levels, meaty combat, and goofy transformations. Dunkey enjoyed it far more than expected and was left wanting to play the rest of the series.

Kirby's first fully 3D mainline adventure is an absolute delight, transposing classic copy abilities into tightly designed playboxes while adding the daft and entertaining Mouthful Mode. Exploration, Waddle Dee rescues, upgrade hunting, side missions, and a charming hub town create a smart, replayable loop that's great for kids and adults alike. Aimed at younger players so it's not very challenging, and it leans on repeated minibosses, but it looks and sounds beautiful and stands as the best the series has been in years.
