Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Double Pack

Our analysis

An utter catastrophe that represents the worst Pokemon games ever made, with rushed development and neutered franchise design. Despite the core appeal remaining, fundamental flaws in game design and technical execution make these unequivocally the franchise's lowest point.

Our analysis

The mainline series' first true open world delivers a real sense of freedom, letting players tackle gyms, Titans, and Team Star in any order across the sprawling Paldia region. Strong character stories, a gorgeous soundtrack, and the snappy Let's Go mechanic make exploration genuinely joyful and a step in the right direction for the franchise. Severe performance and frame-rate problems, blurry visuals, and a lack of memorable landmarks seriously undercut the experience.
