The creator argues Sonic Unleashed is vastly underrated and deserves recognition. Despite some flaws in the day stages and quick time events, the polished night platforming, stunning graphics, excellent soundtrack, and solid progression make it one of the best 3D platformers in the series with moments of genuine greatness.

Sonic Unleashed is a beautiful, charming game with excellent daytime levels that showcase impressive speed-based gameplay, but the Werehog sections are tedious and unnecessary, detracting from the overall experience. The Wii version is more accessible and better-designed than the HD version despite having fewer graphical bells and whistles.
