Our analysis
Final Fantasy VIII Remastered offers a strong story and deep junction mechanics, with useful quality of life additions on Switch. Sharper character models help, but untouched backgrounds and limited visual improvements disappoint.

WatchOur analysis
A misunderstood piece of art with wonderful character development, interesting story beats, and engaging combat systems, but hampered by confusion in narrative direction, poor system explanations, and an overwhelming Triple Triad card game that overshadows the base game.
